Successful Mega Health Camp Empowers the Underprivileged and brings vital Healthcare to them

A successful 'Mega Health Check-Up Camp' was organized by Kewal Memorial Foundation, under Maadhyam International Council for Conflict Resolution, to provide essential healthcare to underprivileged communities in New Delhi. The camp, held at the Delhi State Council of Women in New Friends Colony, offered free medical check-ups, health screenings, and consultations with qualified doctors and specialists. Over 300 people from urban village communities such as Khizrabad, Zakir Nagar, Taimoor Nagar, and Bharat Nagar benefited from services including blood tests, eye and dental check-ups, ECG, mammography, and cancer screenings.

A dedicated team of healthcare professionals from the Artemis Lite Hospital (New Friends Colony), including general practitioners, specialists, and nursing staff, worked tirelessly to offer free medical check-ups, health screenings, and essential diagnostic tests. 

The services included assessments for chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and various metabolic disorders. The examinations included-

• Consultation with the General Physician, Blood Pressure, Sugar, Complete Blood Count, and Haemoglobin Test, 
• Consultation with a Cardiologist and ECG, Chest X-ray, Bone Densitometry Test,
• Consultation with Orthopedician and Physiotherapist, 
• Eye check-up from Centre for Sight, 
• Dental check-up by Clove Dental, 
• Consultation with Gyneacologist, 
• Pap-Smear from the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, 
• Physical examination and Mammography from a Mammography Bus provided by the Rotary Club of Gurgaon and Oral Cancer Detection.

Camp Focus on Examination and Preventive Care 

In addition to health assessments, the camp emphasized preventive care and provided educational sessions on nutrition, lifestyle, and managing chronic conditions. Personalized consultations allowed individuals to understand their health needs better, with many expressing gratitude for the services provided, which they otherwise could not afford. Local community support played a significant role in the camp’s success, with volunteers helping with logistics.

The positive feedback from participants has encouraged Maadhyam to plan future health camps and outreach initiatives, aiming to continue promoting health awareness and access in underserved communities.
